The Opportunity: 

We are looking for a Cloud Data Architect to be a thought leader in how to design, implement, manage, and scale our data architecture and machine learning technology. The successful candidate will have the passion and enthusiasm to drive our technology product line to cement ACA Group as the premier Reg Tech company globally.

 

  • Highly desired locations: New York City, Pittsburgh, Chattanooga, Boston, Chicago, Florida (Boca Raton, Miami), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston.
  • Note: This role will likely move to a hybrid role in the future.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Work with management and fellow architects to define ACA's vision, strategy, and roadmap to build the best data architecture for our products.
  • Help to evaluate new data technologies and tools.
  • Establish and maintain data standards and policies to drive consistency and standardization, security, scalability, and resiliency for all data assets.
  • Plan and execute data modernization and migration initiatives.

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • At least ten years of experience with data architecture, management, and modernization.
  • Expert SQL knowledge and experience with administration of multiple database types RDBMS (MySql, Postgresql, MSSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, ElasticSearch).
  • Experience with successful data migrations, ideally, across database flavors (e.g. MSSQL to Postgresql).
  • Strong knowledge and solutioning experience in AWS (preferred) - building and driving highly available, scalable, enterprise level cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with distributed global databases with strong data residence requirements is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of best practices for database optimization, data governance, security, resilience, and operational monitoring.
  • Understanding of AI/ML platforms and data requirements to facilitate development of AI/ML models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical challenges in simple and understandable ways.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • A bachelor’s degree required for candidate consideration. MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
