The Opportunity:

 

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is mainly responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, and driving talent management programs within their assigned groups. They support the full employee life cycle – from fostering exceptional employee experience, to managing exits from the organization. The individual in this position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units to deliver value-added support.  This role is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and advice to BU and Function leaders and managers.
  • Supports the Director of HRBP team in implementing talent management programs (e.g. performance management, succession planning, attrition analysis, diversity and inclusion) and special projects.
  • Lead communications and presentations to employees within designated groups for HR initiatives.
  • Develop, implements, reinforces, and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
  • Provide advice and coaching to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and talent development.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with respective business unit & functional leaders.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Work with management to determine their current HR needs.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience required; concentration in human resources, business, or other related area an asset.
  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience preferred.
