The Opportunity:
This is a key role in the ACA Mirabella’s Risk Department. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with all members of the Risk team and the wider business as ACA Mirabella implements an enterprise-wide, risk management framework. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to the business to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. ACA Mirabella provides a regulatory hosting solution to clients who want to protect and expand their services in the UK and Europe.
What you’ll do:
- Supporting the Risk Team in developing a Risk Taxonomy for the Mirabella Division that meets Mirabella’s business needs and FCA/EU expectations.
- Be responsible for enhancing and maintaining a firm-wide Mirabella Risk Register that is signed off by key Risk Owners.
- Outlining our internal control framework and working with business owners to document key processes and identify risks, controls and potential improvements to current processes. This includes supporting Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSAs) or equivalent for business review and signoff.
- Developing suitable Key Risk Indicators that are signed off by the business and incorporating them into firm-wide risk reporting escalation protocols and risk reporting templates.
- With Compliance, review operational breaches and near misses and monitor actions taken to address these and assess their significant for the overall internal control framework.
- Assisting with the overall risk assessment and quantification for inclusion in ICARAs. This includes the development of appropriate stress test scenarios and wind down plans.
- Assisting with the preparation and roll out of an Enterprise Risk Plan
To qualify for the role you must have:
- A degree in a related discipline or related professional qualification
- At least three years previous experience of operational risk management in financial services, preferably asset management.
- Good knowledge of the UK (FCA) regulatory environment.
- Advanced/good Excel skills, knowledge of Powerpoint and Word.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience of stress testing, ICARA and wind down planning.
- EU regulatory knowledge.
- Experience of Power BI
- Exposure to GRC tools

- Demonstrated professional integrity.
- Be able to build and maintain effective partnership relationships with Risk colleagues and key business stakeholders. Become a ‘go to’ person for risk and control queries.
- Produces high quality work on a timely basis. This may include processing mapping/flowcharts, risk analysis, RSCAs or equivalent and Risk reports and policies. This includes being prepared to ‘roll up one’s sleeves’ and take on tasks to achieve a common goal.
- Being adaptable and pragmatic in determining what is appropriate and proportionate for ACA Mirabella in the context of its size, complexity and current priorities.
- Identifying and recommending control improvements, be willing to adapt those in response to appropriate feedback and following through agreed improvement plans with control owners.
