We are seeking a talented Risk & Valuations Officer with experience in investment management and fund accounting. The Opportunity

As part of ACA Mirabella’s Risk team, you will assess operational, valuation, and financial risks for our products. You will work closely with portfolio managers, fund administrators, and present to Fund Boards and ACA Mirabella senior management.
What You’ll Do
As a Risk & Valuations Officer, you will:
Portfolio Management Oversight:
• Manage a portfolio of established and onboarding ACA Mirabella portfolio managers, funds, and mandates.
• Prepare and maintain detailed risk assessments for each portfolio manager, considering fund mandates, investment agreements, and valuation guidelines.
• Design, implement, and monitor risk management programs, investment risk limits, and key risk indicators.
• Monitor daily investment activity to ensure compliance with agreed limits, escalating exceptions as required.
• Ensuring agreed actions with portfolio managers are implemented on a timely and effective basis.
• Participate in due diligence reviews on third parties used by portfolio managers or their funds e.g. fund administrators, depositaries, IT systems, market risk models etc.
Valuation Oversight:
• Analyze and validate portfolio valuations, with a focus on identifying valuation risks associated with asset classes like illiquid securities or volatile markets.
• Work with administrators, external valuation experts, and depositaries to ensure robust valuation methodologies are consistently applied.
• Reviewing and commenting on stress test results, their design and parameters to ensure that they address relevant fund and portfolio risks and improve oversight processes.
Compliance & Reporting:
• Stay up to date with regulatory requirements, including AIFMD and MiFID, to ensure compliance across all funds and mandates.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for Fund Boards and for ACA Mirabella senior management.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
• Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Professional certifications (CFA, FRM, CAIA) are a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on portfolio management, valuation models, or fund accounting/administration.
• Solid understanding of UK and EU regulatory environments.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with advanced Excel functions and data tools like Model BI is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify key trends and risks.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and professional reports.
