The Opportunity:

This position will be an integral component of ACA’s work on Corporate Development/M&A activities, Strategic Planning, and other initiatives. The position will play a role in the development of ACA’s business case evaluation models, perform analyses of industry/business sector information, contribute to the execution of the firm’s overall M&A strategy and assist in managing due diligence of acquisitions. The position will be part of a small team focused on high profile and high impact projects within the organization with significant visibility to senior management of the company, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and the Chief Strategy Officer/Head of Corporate Development.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and own detailed company valuations and financial models.
  • Conduct thorough transaction analysis, including M&A transaction due diligence.
  • Direct third-party advisors and coordinate other key logistics elements of M&A transaction processing.
  • Draft and create investment review materials for presentation to senior management, private equity sponsor and board of directors.
  • Exhibit high quality presentation skills and an ability to work cross functionally with a broad range of professionals within the organization.
  • Assist in research to help build business cases for acquisition proposals.
  • Review market trends and help determine implications for ACA based on comprehensive research and data analysis. Contribute to assessments through analysis and documentation of findings.
  • Support the development of business cases to evaluate growth opportunities and the development of key materials to communicate opportunity within the organization.
  • Assist in due diligence and integration planning and management.
  • Conduct preliminary research on targets and present them to senior team members.
  • Work with teams of professionals across ACA business lines to drive strategic initiatives and coordinate internal due diligence efforts on M&A activities.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and other tasks and duties related to broader Strategy and Corp Dev initiatives, including, among other things, preparation of materials related to board of directors’ meetings and internal senior management meetings.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree (Business or Finance preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Corporate Finance, M&A, Consulting, or a fast-paced project management role
  • Knowledge of financial services, investment management, and/or Governance, Risk, and Compliance (“GRC”) verticals preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in person in NYC office minimum 2-3 days per week

 

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience with financial statements, principles, and valuation techniques with minimal guidance required on financial concepts.
  • Experience with financial modeling and business case analysis, including market sizing analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent judgment and initiative
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under limited supervision

Salary Range: $120,000-$125,000
