The Opportunity:

 

The individual in this position serves as the dedicated supervisor, relationship manager, and AML subject matter expert for key ACA managed services clients. Senior Principal Consultants have supervisory, training, and anti-money laundering (AML) subject matter expertise responsibilities in addition to their expertise and support on managed services engagements. Senior Principal Consultants are expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding the regulations, best practices, and jurisdictional nuances associated with the products, services, and client processes they engage in managing. 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage AML/KYC process on behalf of client in full autonomy from simplified due diligences up to enhanced due diligences.  
    • Perform AML/KYC analysis and risk assessments at Client-Investor Onboarding and for Recertification / Periodical review in line with the clients’ procedures, AML/KYC guidelines, specific KYC policy for investors, SLAs, OP Memo in place. 
    • Ensure all processes (collect of documentation, screening, risk assessment, approval process, etc) are followed and finalized in accordance with applicable rules and procedures in place. 
  • Experienced with regulations in force such as AML-CFT, AMLD6, FATCA, CRS, AIFMD, UBO identification, DAC6, FinCen/SEC, etc. 
  • Communicate with clients and investors on behalf of clients and support internal/external stakeholders/parties involved in the AML KYC Onboarding, transfers and refresh process. 
  • Keep accurate track record of all AML KYC related requests from receipt to execution and ensure quality / accuracy of associated data. 
  • Prepare and submit High Risk assessments to client approval, facilitate coordination and approval process. 
  • Work in close and continuous collaboration with clients, other team members and stakeholders to achieve joint objectives. 
  • Solve issues related to daily activities. 
  • Ensure timely escalation and own proposed course of actions to client to address identified risks and blocking issues during KYC process. 
  • Ensure and deliver high standard of quality in the KYC files in accordance with the client’s policies and procedures. 
  • Be a key point of contact for questions or issues raised during KYC process. 
  • Manage more complex and/or strategic client relationships with respect to AML managed services projects and services, as well as engage with other ACA account owners and relationship managers to ensure excellent client service 
  • Train new staff on regulations, policies, and procedures in one-on-one and small group settings 
  • Oversee client relationships, including onboarding new clients, setting scope and workflow expectations, communicating findings, tracking budgets, reviewing invoices, answering questions, and ensuring client expectations and contractual obligations are met 
  • Draft and finalize reports summarizing ACA’s work and findings, and review drafts prepared by analysts 
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, oversee, and provide feedback to colleagues in a supervisory and project manager capacity. 
  • Perform other ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives, including, but not limited to: 
    • Analyst training 
    • Public speaking engagements 
    • Attend conferences and roundtable events for continued professional and industry development 

 

To qualify for the role you must have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least six years of industry experience serving in regulatory compliance and/or AML roles. Strong working knowledge of relevant laws and associated rules and regulatory positions thereunder (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN AML Program Rule and SAR Rule, FINRA Rule 3310, FCA/ESMA: Sixth, Fifth Money Laundering Directive, CIMA Regulations, USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, and OFAC guidance).

Ideally, you’ll also have:

 

  • Major or concentration in compliance, criminal justice, law, business, accounting, finance, and/or economics preferred. AML-related certifications (such as CAMS, EIMF) can be of additional benefit.
