Position Objective:
 

The individual in this position is responsible for performing day-to-day activities necessary to support ACA Compliance Group (“ACA”) in meeting its accounting and financial reporting obligations.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:
 

  • Primary areas of responsibility include payroll accounting for the corporate entities in the US, India, and Europe, and monthly expense allocations.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for the US bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and off-cycle payrolls
  • Prepare monthly payroll expense accrual journal entries for US bi-weekly payroll expenses
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for the monthly India and UK payrolls
  • Prepare payroll expense reclass journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare payroll cash disbursement journal entries
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations for the payroll-related balance sheet accounts, including salary and payroll tax payable, pensions and other benefits payable
  • Perform monthly benefit expense analysis and prepare expense accruals and reclasses as needed.
  • Perform monthly expense allocations for corporate entity-level benefits, and business unit-level personnel and overhead expenses
  • Assist management in developing policies and procedures that improve existing accounting practices and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support management in completing the annual financial and other audits.
  • Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives.

Summary of Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required – major or concentration in business administration, accounting or finance preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting related experience with an emphasis in payroll accounting
  • Strong financial analysis and excel skills   
  • General understanding of financial/accounting systems, experience with Workday a plus  
  • Knowledge of accounting/financial management principles
  • Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments on matters of significance
  • Demonstrated professional integrity
  • Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to new ACA initiatives and changing client needs
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, small-team environment
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
