Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable – Credit Processing

Position Summary
The Assistant Manager, Accounts Receivable – Credit Processing is a senior, hands-on contributor within the Finance organization, responsible for executing and overseeing credit and write-off activities in accordance with ACA policies, controls, and approval thresholds. This role combines direct processing responsibilities with review, approval, and supervisory duties, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across credit and write-off transactions.
This position supervises two (2) Pune-based Credit & Write-Off Analysts and serves as a key escalation point for complex credit matters, process adherence, and workflow coordination. The Assistant Manager is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, organization, and accountability while supporting continuous process improvement within the AR function.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Process credits and write-offs in accordance with established ACA policies, approval matrices, and internal control requirements
- Review and approve credits and write-offs within a defined dollar threshold; escalate items exceeding thresholds in accordance with governance procedures
- Perform detailed reviews of credit requests to validate accuracy, supporting documentation, contractual alignment, and proper accounting treatment
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of approved credits and write-offs within applicable financial systems
- Supervise, train, and provide ongoing guidance to two (2) Pune-based Credit & Write-Off Analysts
- Monitor daily workloads to ensure service-level expectations and month-end timelines are met
- Serve as a subject matter resource for complex credit scenarios and audit-related inquiries
- Partner with AR leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve credit-related issues
- Maintain tracking tools, reconciliations, and reporting related to credit and write-off activity
- Identify process improvements to strengthen controls and operational effectiveness
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc initiatives
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Five (5) or more years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience with credit/write-off focus
- Ability to review and interpret contractual terms and billing data
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems such as Deltek, Salesforce, and Zendesk (or similar platforms)
- Prior experience reviewing or approving transactions within defined thresholds
- Supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
