The Opportunity 

ACA believes that we can deliver the world’s best GRC software to our blue-chip financial services client base of over 3500 firms. We are seeking top talent to join us in our journey to build and deliver “The SalesForce of Compliance”.  Compliance Officers in finance have been stuck in the past, with inefficient, manual effort driving their compliance programs. ACA’s ComplianceAlpha is deployed at 800+ clients and more daily to help modernize that. We are investing significantly to drive technology usage at our clients. 


The QA Engineer role is responsible for the development and delivery of an automation-first test suite for our ComplianceAlpha products.  Each QA Engineer will be part of a geo-located agile product team, and will provide guidance to the team during planning and refinement as well as execute on the plan during the sprint. 


We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Associate Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. This role is ideal for early‑career professionals who have a strong foundation in SDLC, functional testing, automation basics, and a keen desire to grow into a full-stack Quality Engineer. You will work closely with QA, development, and product teams to deliver high‑quality software through structured testing and automation practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Participate in reviewing user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios.
  • Design, create, and execute manual and automated test cases for web applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, and smoke testing with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understand and follow established QA processes, defect lifecycle, and Agile development methodologies (Scrum preferred).

Automation

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript preferred / JavaScript acceptable).
  • Apply modular and scalable automation design principles (DRY, POM, componentization).
  • Contribute to expanding automation coverage across UI and API layers.
  • Help identify tests suitable for automation and maintain test suites for reliability and performance.

API & Performance Testing (Value Add - Strong Preference)

  • Execute and validate API tests using tools like PostmanBruno, or similar.
  • Exposure to performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeterGatling) is preferred.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Log defects with clear reproduction steps and detailed insights using JIRA or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and senior QA resources to ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and QA planning discussions.
  • Maintain test documentation, automation scripts, and version-controlled repositories using Git.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with Playwright automation using TypeScript (preferred)/JavaScript(acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of API testing and performance testing concepts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn tools, frameworks, and new technologies.
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
  • Collaborative mindset with willingness to take guidance and grow.
  • Familiarity with using AI‑assisted tools for productivity (optional but beneficial).

 

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering.
  • Practical experience with Playwright (TypeScript or JavaScript).
  • Understanding of Agile processes, QA fundamentals, and defect lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Experience with JIRA or any task/defect tracking tool.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM 
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and ATDD methodologies. 

 

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, Bruno, etc.).
  • Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
  • Experience automating mobile platforms, a plus. 
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and database automation.  
  • Experience in scripting languages, such as Python or Ruby, are a plus.
