Position Summary
The Analyst - Strategic Initiatives provides project coordination and operational support for IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This role collaborates with technology teams and business stakeholders to facilitate project execution, track progress, and enhance reporting through data-driven insights. The Analyst is responsible for assisting in IT project planning, risk management, and scope control using Jira and Excel, as well as compiling reports, documenting processes, and supporting communication efforts. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to driving IT projects forward in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
Job Duties
- Assist in IT project coordination by supporting planning, scheduling, risk management, and scope control using Jira, Power BI, and Excel.
- Track and monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to IT project standards and methodologies.
- Collaborate with project managers and technology leads to facilitate Agile processes, including attending scrums and updating project boards.
- Gather and document technical requirements from business users to support IT development efforts.
- Compile and maintain project documentation, including weekly team reports, meeting agendas, and status updates.
- Take detailed meeting notes, track action items, and ensure follow-ups are completed.
- Generate data-driven reports to provide insights into project performance, risks, and key performance indicators.
- Help develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and process documentation to standardize operations.
- Act as a liaison between technology teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Facilitate communication between teams, resolve conflicts, and support decision-making through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations to technology leadership and stakeholders as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to IT operations, project tracking, and reporting.
- Utilize Microsoft 365 applications, Jira, Confluence, and other tools to optimize project execution and reporting.
- Perform ad-hoc work and special projects as necessary to support IT strategic initiatives and business objectives.
Required Experience
- Experience with IT project coordination, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and scope control.
- Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
- Experience gathering technical requirements from business users and supporting IT development efforts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel for data reporting and analysis.
- Hands-on experience using project management software like Jira or Asana for project tracking, backlog management, and Agile workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate project status, risks, and key performance indicators.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience liaising between technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while providing updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Experience compiling and maintaining project documentation, meeting reports, and action item tracking.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL preferred.
- Knowledge of enterprise business systems, VB, .NET, Power Apps, and IT support concepts preferred.
- Previous experience in IT project support, business analysis, or a similar role in a technology-driven environment preferred.
- Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies for evaluating and implementing IT solutions preferred
