The RMO Resource Manager Lead provides strategic oversight of enterprise-wide resource allocation, supervises Resource Managers, and ensures efficient workforce planning aligned to organizational priorities. This role partners closely with PMO, Delivery, Sales, and Services leadership, drives continuous improvement in resource management processes, and escalates critical resourcing challenges to senior leadership.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise RMO Resource Managers, including performance management, hiring recommendations, and professional development.
- Oversee allocation of PMO Project Managers and Delivery resources to ensure balanced workloads across projects.
- Review and approve fulfillment of resource requests, ensuring prioritization based on strategic demand.
- Ensure team maintains accurate skills matrices, certifications, and availability data in Certinia (PSA).
- Collaborate with Sales, PMO, and Delivery leadership to forecast future resource demand and capacity.
- Resolve escalated conflicts related to staffing, skill gaps, or capacity limitations.
- Improve and enforce RMO standard operating procedures and governance.
- Drive adoption and consistent use of resource management tools and analytics dashboards.
- Provide insights and reporting to leadership on resource utilization, capacity trends, and risks.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This role directly supervises Resource Managers and may oversee additional resourcing personnel. Responsible for team workload distribution, operational oversight, and coaching to ensure performance excellence.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Operations, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in supervision and resource management, workforce planning, or a similar role
- Proficiency in Certinia (PSA) or similar resource management technology
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of project management and related business processes
- Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to new ACA initiatives and changing client needs.
- Ability to perform in fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional environments.
- Ability to drive outcomes, multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior financial services / Governance, Risk, and Compliance work experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Conga CLM, and Salesforce CPQ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across teams and external partners.
- Experience managing high-value and complex resources in a professional services and/or consulting environment.
- RCMP® certification from RMI
