Position Summary

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the pre-sale engagement with prospects. You will assist in driving new business from prospective and existing customer accounts and meeting and/or exceeding all sales quotas to achieve revenue goals.

 

 

 

 

Job Duties

Serve as a client-facing technical advisor throughout the pre-sales cycle, building credibility with technical and business stakeholders.

 

Understand the competitive landscape and clearly articulate the value proposition and

key differentiators of ACA products/offerings.

 

Partner with Sales to plan and facilitate customer meetings, and where possible, support

them (discovery, solutioning, and Q&A) and align on next steps.

 

Prepare and deliver high-quality, audience-appropriate presentations and technical

software demonstrations (live and remote), tailoring messaging to client goals and use

cases.


Facilitate consultative discovery to assess client requirements, uncover pain points, and translate needs into proposed solutions using Alpha.


Effectively handle client objections and manage complex stakeholder dynamics by adapting positioning, content, and demonstrations to address concerns.


Assist with client management for assigned opportunities, including meeting preparation, follow-up and communications.

 

Build and maintain trusted relationships with key client stakeholders from procurement through delivery by consistently demonstrating value and expected outcomes.


Constantly remain up to speed with current product developments and enhancements and proactively enable internal teams with client-ready messaging and demo assets.


Build strong internal partnerships with ACA consultants, sales team members, and product team members to ensure consistent client experience and successful handoffs.

 

 

Required Education and Experience  

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field but business, finance, business management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  2. 5-9 years of experience in technical sales, solution engineer, or a related role.

 

 

 

Preferred Education and Skills

  1. Understanding of industry, market, and the competitive landscape
  2. Strong technical knowledge and ability to explain complex technical concepts.
  3. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Prior experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) and enterprise software (desirable).
  5. Prior experience with professional services (desirable).
  6. Demonstrated professional integrity.
  7. Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to new ACA initiatives and changing client needs.
  8. Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments on matters of significance.
  9. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
  10. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
  11. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  12. Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
  13. Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients or attend industry events.
  14. Results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
