Sales Director, Sales Enablement

The Opportunity:

As our Director of Sales Enablement, you will have a unique opportunity to build out the enablement strategy and for a rapidly growing commercial team. This is a terrific opportunity for a dynamic leader to accelerate growth by defining, training on, and enabling strategies, key processes, and best practices that will promote success in our commercial organization. You will provide direct leadership and manage a sales enablement team.

You will work directly with our Head of RevOps and Sales Leadership to directly contribute to positive performance of the commercial organization by helping our teams to define and implement their sales methodologies.  You will identify gaps, develop, train on best practices, evaluate prospecting and sales tool use, and monitor and address any areas of concern at all levels.

As a valued thought leader, you will work collaboratively with multiple teams across our company and bring an ownership mentality to the commercial team’s performance and growth. You will provide the necessary process knowledge, behaviors, leadership, and tools for the commercial team to be both efficient and effective in their selling efforts.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Own the overall executional success of individual contributors and managers through continuous learning and development.
  • Continue to build and execute our vision, mission, and strategy for commercial enablement.
  • Oversee all aspects of both new hire onboarding and continuous learning programs for the commercial team, including but not limited to training, content creation, scheduling and coordination, creation and deployment or delivery of on-demand courseware, and instructor-led sales training.
  • Accountable for the creation and deployment of all training and enablement strategies to support each role within the sales force.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership and HR to integrate new roles within the commercial team.
  • Support buying and selling processes at all stages of the buyer journey, from lead generation through client onboarding.
  • Partner with frontline sales managers and the sales leadership team to establish a sales coaching program and execute effective management disciplines.
  • Support product launches and acquisitions by preparing and enabling the commercial team through change.
  • Prioritize and set goals around our many strategies and enablement needs to ensure we’re generating great business outcomes.
  • Ownership of vendor relationships, supporting potential opportunities for future program growth and maximize ROI on the Commercial tech stack.
  • Identify and track performance metrics, and leverage data to make key decisions.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify potential gaps and needs.
  • Proactively lead your team to develop the support necessary for the commercial operations team.
  • Develop and build a team to own curriculum, training, and resources to maximize commercial success.
  • Jump in when necessary to design/build content and/or sales enablement tools and process flows

 

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • 4-year degree, master’s or MBA preferred
  • Multiple years of experience guiding strategy and directing education for fast-growing commercial organizations with 50+ individual contributors
  • Expert knowledge of sales enablement technologies, processes, and best practices
  • Expert knowledge of sales training best practices (analysis, instructional design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation)
  • Proven leadership experience with full learning and development frameworks that have led to an improved commercial organization.
  • Experience using and training on modern sales methodologies, sales process, and buyer’s journey alignment.
  • Experience with sales management best practices, including pipeline management and developmental sales coaching techniques.
  • History of effective hiring and selection practices for sales roles
  • Strong track record of managing projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience planning and facilitating meetings to senior leadership include C-suite.
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • High adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change while coordinating your team towards success.
  • Managed a high performing team that consistently hits goals and implements continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing organizational change.
  • An innate curiosity to find innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • A bias towards action


Experience:

  • 10+ years of combined sales, training, leadership experience
  • 5+ years leadership experience in sales enablement/sales training functions/organizations
  • Previous experience working with Salesforce preferred.
  • Preference for those with experience in financial/investment services industries
