The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the administration and processing of the company payroll for ACA Group (“ACA”). The individual in this position is also responsible for ensuring completion of all tasks necessary to successfully process the company’s payroll objectives, including establishing and maintaining relationships with external auditors and state and federal agencies. The individual in this position is also responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of payroll processing and supporting ACA’s related HR and finance functions.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee, prepare, process and/or administer payroll for all ACA entities across multiple states and localities
  • Review and ensure accuracy of payroll and timesheets; track and administer all garnishments and other payroll deductions
  • Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and/or other departments as needed within ACA to ensure proper payroll execution, including oversight, review, preparation and distribution of detailed reports
  • Oversight and maintenance of ACA’s entire payroll platform and payroll processes
  • Verify compliance with applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Address, resolve or elevate more complex requests and registrations with external auditors and state and federal agencies
  • Review and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
  • Lead payroll audits and projects as well as support larger ACA initiatives, as necessary
  • Assist with the payroll transition process for mergers and acquisitions
  • Perform functions in support of payroll accounting in coordination with the finance team
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations accurately and timely
  • Work with management to develop and enhance ACA’s payroll programs, policies and processes, including implementation, communication and advocacy of policies and procedures
  • Support adherence to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements, keeping up to date with changes and ensuring data protection and risk requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure that international payroll needs for US secondees are being managed efficiently and accurately
  • Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives 

 

To Qualify for the role, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification – concentration in accounting, finance or a comparable field preferred
  • Five years’ experience in payroll administration performing general payroll functions
  • Solid working knowledge of general local, state and federal tax rules and regulations

 

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience with managing payroll for employee teams in India.
