The Opportunity

The application support engineer specializing in financial concepts, including understanding transactions, holdings, and securities.  You will be responsible for executing daily tasks within the technology support team, specifically focusing on the personal trading aspect of ACA Technology platforms. This includes identifying issues, troubleshooting, offering guidance on corrective measures, and managing system configurations.  This would include maintaining data integrity and providing support to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently. 

 

  • Highly desired locations: New York City, Pittsburgh, Chattanooga, Boston, Chicago, Florida (Boca Raton, Miami), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Houston.
  • Note: This role will likely move to a hybrid role in the future.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Conduct analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of incidents related to brokerage account connections. 
  • Validate system-generated outcomes against clients' expected data. 
  • Manage cases comprehensively, including logging, monitoring, updating, prioritizing, and resolving calls, emails, and indirect inquiries promptly. 
  • Capable of fixes, code enhancements, and optimization, with minimal assistance.  Should know system well enough to train and assist other Support members 
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to determine corrective actions or feasible workarounds for incident resolution. 
  • Assist clients in establishing connections for brokerage accounts. 
  • Offer recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership, leveraging insights to advocate for both internal and external users. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in meeting deadlines, delivering exceptional support, and producing progress reports and documentation of client responses. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Proficient in analytical skills, adept at resolving issues through troubleshooting. 
  • Familiarity with financial concepts, including understanding transactions, holdings, and securities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a concentration in technology or finance. 
  • MS SQL proficiency is must 

 

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending the English language. 
  • Understanding of financial concepts, including transactions, holdings, and securities. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities 
  • Strong database (MS SQL) development skills 
  • In-depth knowledge of stored procedures 
  • Familiarity with SQL DBMS interface and integrated tools 
  • Professional experience in C#.NET and/or C#.Core 
  • Ability to read, understand, and modify code (code-competency) for diagnosis, escalation, and resolution 
  • Reliable, adaptable, and open to new ACA initiatives and evolving client requirements. 
  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and prioritizing effectively. 
  • Proficient in thriving within a fast-paced, small-team environment. 
  • Highly motivated and focused on achieving goals; proactive in self-education and career advancement; willing to contribute to both internal and external projects and tasks. 
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
