The Opportunity
The Sr. Application Support Engineer performs day-to-day technology support team duties with respect to a variety of ACA Technology platforms, including determining issues, troubleshooting, and providing advice for corrective actions. The individual in this position will also assist the Manager, Tech Leads, Application Support, in training new ACA application support team members and assuring quality, speediness, and resolutions are delivered to the client.
- Highly desired locations: New York City, Pittsburgh, Chattanooga, Boston, Chicago, Florida (Boca Raton, Miami), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Raleigh/Durham.
- Note: This role will likely move to a hybrid role in the future.
What you’ll do:
- Re-create, analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose incidents
- Determine root cause of incidents (e.g., configuration, defect, misuse)
- Liaise with other developers and product owners on corrective actions or viable workarounds to resolve incidents
- Execute fixes, code enhancements, and optimization, with minimal assistance
- Respond to direct and indirect inquiries based on client service level agreements
- Execute scheduled or unscheduled tasks relating to operational maintenance and monitoring of technology applications
- Perform routine audits of systems for the purpose of preventative maintenance of applications and report on status of systems
- Perform call management, including logging, monitoring, updating, prioritizing and resolving calls, emails and indirect inquiries in a timely fashion to ensure the team achieves their SLA goals
- Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on various client and internal initiatives
- Perform training of new application support team members or current team members in learning additional applications the team supports.
- Supervise, train, evaluate, oversee, and provide feedback to junior colleagues

To qualify for the role you must have:
- Ubuntu/Linux architecture and commands
- Solid knowledge of web client JavaScript libraries
- Debugging within the Linux architecture/logs
- Networking, updating Secured certifications, server upgrades, patches, and Bash scripting
- AWS CLI, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, IAM permissioning, and autoscaling
- RDS SQL – MySQLUnderstanding and using the SDLC
- Bachelor’s degree – concentration in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred
- Experience with performance monitoring tools and analysis preferred
