The Opportunity

The Senior Application Support Engineer specializing in financial concepts, including understanding transactions, holdings, and securities.  You will be responsible for executing daily tasks within the technology support team, specifically focusing on the personal trading aspect of ACA Technology platforms. This includes identifying issues, troubleshooting, offering guidance on corrective measures, and managing system configurations.  This would include maintaining data integrity and providing support to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues within MS-SQL efficiently

 

  • Office Locations: NYC (office is near Grand Central), Pittsburgh, Medford, Oregon, Chattanooga, Portland, Maine and Boston
  • Must be able to go into one of these offices 2 days/week (Hybrid)

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Perform in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of incidents related to clients' trades, holdings, and securities. 
  • Fully manage cases by logging, monitoring, updating, prioritizing, and resolving calls, emails, and indirect inquiries promptly. 
  • Execute fixes, code enhancements, and optimizations with minimal assistance within MS SQL. 
  • Work collaboratively with developers and product owners to identify corrective actions or effective workarounds for incident resolution. 
  • Support clients in implementing fixes for MS SQL ETL failures, including updates to stored procedures and ETL configurations. 
  • Provide recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership, using insights to advocate for both internal and external users. 

 

Skills and attributes for success:

 

  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL with the ability to write and interpret detailed SQL statements and stored procedures. 
  • Deep understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts. 
  • Solid financial analytical skills with familiarity with financial concepts, including transactions, holdings, and securities. 
  • Understand API calls. 
  • Excellent proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English. 
  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple tasks, and effectively prioritizing. 
  • Skilled at thriving in a fast-paced, small-team environment. 
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented; proactive in self-learning and career advancement; willing to contribute to both internal and client-facing projects. 
  • Nice to have:  AWS experience, AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, Postman

 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Proficient in analytical skills, adept at resolving issues through troubleshooting. 
  • Familiarity with financial concepts, including understanding transactions, holdings, and securities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a concentration in technology or finance.
